A recent disaster has shaken the earth, a kind of World War III called COVID-19 or the novel CORONAVIRUS. Almost the whole world is affected by it. Over 10,000 have died because of  it so far and the numbers are rising exponentially. WHO has declared it as a pandemic and there are 200 thousand cases of COVID-19 in the world.

Everything has a cause just like COVID-19 too  does. It is undoubtedly nature’s way to create balance on the earth. The world population is increasing day by day and it has crossed over 7.5 billion. COVID-19 has killed over 10,000 people in the world. It is in a way nature’s revenge on humans. Humanity has always wounded mother earth, but now it is time for her to strike back. It is very necessary to balance the over increasing population and that’s why, I feel, it started from China which is the most populated country in the world. Everything needs balance and human population too. Overcrowding has disturbed the ecosystem. Deaths are not something to celebrate but  this annihilation is perhaps necessary to restore balance. The industrial disasters at Fukushima and Chernobyl have added new clouds of radiation to the atmospheric remnants of open-air nuclear weapons testing. Our oceans have become carbonized with atmospheric oxides while declining populations of sharks, whales, seabirds and fish have been replaced by growing gobs of floating, swirling plastic waste. Our drinking water is contaminated with lead, mercury and a lethal legacy of PFAS and other “Forever Chemicals.” Our bees and birds are dying from the addition of toxic chemicals and the reduction of sustainable habitat.

If Mother Nature is, to some degree, a sentient force, we shouldn’t be surprised if she is finally thinking: “Enough! It’s time to get rid of these human pests.” Maybe Corona is a kind of human pesticide. It is similar to Thanos’s infinity gem which can reduce the population to half. But if this pandemic spreads, it could be us next ! We need to protect ourselves from this nature’s threat. We need to do the five– HANDS: Wash them often, ELBOW: Cough into it, FACE: Don’t touch it, SPACE: Keep safe distance, HOME: Stay if you can. We should pledge today that we’ll no longer exploit nature or tamper with it any more . May God give all the strength to tide through these trying times.
