India, one of the largest democracies in the world, celebrated its 74th Independence Day on 15th of August, 2020. This day marks the historic occasion when the country finally broke the shackles of oppression and gained independence from the British empire in the year 1947.
This day reminds us of all the sacrifices that were made by our freedom fighters in order to set India free from British rule. The day is celebrated with flag hoisting, parades and cultural events.
At our school this year, we celebrated our 74th Independence Day online where our children were beautifully dressed up in white attire. There was fun, enjoyment and lots of patriotic feel in the celebrations. Our children made tricolor crafts, flags as well as sandwiches. There were singing and dancing performances by our adorable students and teachers. The festivity ended with the singing of the national anthem. The entire celebration just took our hearts away and captivated everyone involved.
